Our last weekend in Florida before heading to Nashville was low-key, but lovely. Atlas and I spent time with family on the boardwalk and snapped roughly 100,000 photos with my new Nikon. I’ve only just gotten into photography, really. I took a pinhole photography class in college where we created our own cameras out of coffee cans, but that was the beginning and end of it. It’s kind of cool to take up a hobby as an adult. I feel a lot more equipped to actually follow through on learning things because it’s a passion rather than a requirement and even though I don’t have a ton of free time these days, I try to manage it more wisely (i.e., Less watching Bravo, more watching of human I created.)
Anyway, I picked up this dress on one of my marathon shopping trips at Target. (You know, the kind that starts with popping in to the store quickly because you need a new hairbrush and quickly spirals into 2 hours of your life and 2 paychecks lost to tchotchkes and cheap summer sandals.) I dig the color and the lightness of it–a cute fit for a festival or weekend jaunt around town. These ‘Lowland’ boots have been a staple in my wardrobe all fall/winter long and I’m testing out ways to bring them into spring. They’re so versatile, chic and a little sexy…I wish I could own them in every color. It was a pretty chilly day in Florida, so Atty was all layered up in a color-blocked (and social media friendly!) sweater I got on sale at baby Gap, organic sloth-print (of course) harem pants and the most adorable vest custom-made for him by Curly Q’s Counter. If you’re not familiar with Curly Q’s and you have small children, I urge you to browse her goodies. I promise you, few things are more adorable than babies in studded denim.
Viva la spring!
